“My mother died 5/19/19 and John gave me the painting not long after that. He and Peter attended her funeral, which meant so much to me. When John gave me the painting, I cried, of course. My mother is the white dancer, and I am the one in black. The buttons on my dress are roses, and he painted a crown on my head. He told me these things when he gave it to me. I love all of John's paintings, but this one is possibly the most special to me because it is a beautiful reminder of two people who I loved intensely.” - Jennifer Williams
